SAMA was created for women navigating changing skin and the shifting rhythms of midlife.

It was born from a simple belief: that skincare should support the skin as it changes, not fight it.

Every formulation was guided by the belief that simplicity and efficacy are not opposites. Months spent researching, testing, refining, and starting over.

Not to launch a brand, but to get it genuinely right.

What began as a personal search for a better way eventually became SAMA.

Hi, I'm Gen

When I turned 40, I started noticing a pattern, with myself and the women around me.

Skin that felt different.

Products that no longer worked the way they used to.

A growing sense of overwhelm

More products.

More steps.

More noise.

More pressure to look younger.

With a medical background and over 15 years working in integrative health, I had always believed in the importance of supporting the body at a foundational level.

I realised skincare should be no different.

Wanting to better understand what skin truly needed during this stage of life, I began a deep dive into the research.

What I learned was something the industry wasn’t saying:

perimenopausal skin is different.

As hormones fluctuate, the skin changes in ways many women don’t fully understand.

The skin barrier becomes more fragile.
Collagen production begins to decline.
The microbiome shifts.
And the skin’s natural repair processes begin to slow down.

Something became clear.

Perimenopausal skin doesn’t need more products, aggressive treatments, or quick fixes.

It needs balance.

And the right support.

The healthy glow so many women are chasing doesn't need to be forced. It emerges naturally when the skin is given what it truly needs.

Because resilient, radiant skin is built by supporting the skin’s natural function over time, not by constantly fighting against it.

But being in the midst of the hormonal roller coaster myself, I also understood something deeper.

Women at this stage of life don’t need more complexity.
Or more pressure.

They need calm.
And simplicity.

That became the principle SAMA was built on.

So I began formulating.

What started in my kitchen, with a few beakers and a lot of persistence, slowly became SAMA — tested first on myself, then on the women closest to me, and refined again and again until everything felt exactly right:

Skincare that feels good to use, makes sense biologically, and fits naturally into real life.
